QuickBooks and UAE e-invoicing
In short: Intuit, the maker of QuickBooks, did not appear on the UAE Ministry of Finance register of Accredited Service Providers on 27 October 2026. QuickBooks users in scope therefore keep QuickBooks and connect it to one of the 80 accredited providers. The deciding questions are whether you run QuickBooks Online or Desktop, how invoices flow to the provider, and how rejections come back.
QuickBooks is popular with UAE SMEs and international subsidiaries, but its vendor is not a UAE accredited provider. That is not a reason to change accounting software — it means choosing the right provider and connector.
Online or Desktop?
- QuickBooks Online is cloud-based with an API, so providers can connect to it directly and run without software on your machines.
- QuickBooks Desktop runs on your own computers. Connections typically need an installed connector or a sync tool, which adds a moving part you have to keep running.
Your route
- Shortlist providers that connect to your exact QuickBooks edition — ask for a customer running it, not a slide.
- Check the round trip — invoices out, supplier invoices in, rejections and status back.
- Clean customer records — TRNs, Peppol IDs and addresses.
- Appoint in EmaraTax, then test invoices, credit notes and a deliberate rejection.
Questions worth asking providers
Does the connector create e-invoices automatically or do we export files?
Automatic creation from the saved invoice avoids re-keying and missed documents. File exports work at very low volume only.
Who fixes a mapping problem — you or us?
Get it in writing. It decides who your team calls at month-end.
